How is the premium version different from the free version?
The premium version is designed for professional users who need support for larger groups of people with more reliability, in addition to company branding. If you are only using appear.in for 1 on 1 calls feel free to stick with our free version, but for standups and team meetings, we suggest having a premium room.
The free version only supports up to 8 participants, while the premium version supports up to 12 people both on desktop computers and mobile devices. Also, premium better supports group calls on mobile devices, since it requires less CPU usage which means less battery drain for you on certain devices. Join a conversation from anywhere with our apps for iOS and Android.
In addition to this, premium also gives you the possibility to brand your room with a custom logo, and change the background image both inside the room and on the page that welcomes people when the room is locked. This is a great way to extend your brand if you're using appear.in to talk to customers!
Screen sharing is one of the most used features in appear.in, and we've had lots of requests to improve it. In the free version, the shared screen will replace your video, so the other people will only see your screen, and not your video. In the premium version, people will see both your shared screen and your video!
